Just a small pointer that was explained badly, the guy who died was a vampire and now everyone will keep assuming he is someoldfucks disciple because he knew how to kill him. In reality, he's clueless and only later realises it was the stick that did that on its own because it sucks blood from certain creatures

He's better at being mopey and clueless than anything else LOL.

So true, lol. Only consolation is that this was at least mediated to some degree. I get shivers when I remember Shinji from Evangelion... that was waaay to much for common sense

Once again lame MC gets his ass kicked or has to have it saved by someone else. Or his inherited demon power erupts just in the nick of time to rescue him. If it weren't for that club he wouldn't even be top 40 let alone top 4. Wish this pansy would die and his more worthy brother could have it lol.

Well yea, but you know that's how some MC started in some donghua's you well know of weak and always get'n beat up, until that plot armor level up into badassdom that's when the harem starts, and then he start to shine, but for now he's got to be this weakling scrub of a wimp without the stick, but he can't use the stick like that tho.

I guess it just comes down to portrayal. I actually like an MC that starts out weak and flawed because it leaves more room for character development down the road. But this MC isn't inspiring in any way or giving me anything to latch onto--indomitable spirit? Intelligent tactician or ally maker? Passion for cultivation? Protective of friends? Revenge for family murder? Nope, not really LOL.

That said, I still look forward to this every week so..

Well, the novel is better at explaining it. The mc's power is his dual cultivation of both Buddhist & Taoist methods...at the same time. So, while this has caused him to be very slow in his cultivation, the lasting effects of it has made him (overall) much stronger than his actual cultivation level would be. So basically, his body is tough and can take a lot of punishment. As to other powers and social skills like "Ally maker" - he is always courageous when it comes to saving others...particularly beautiful women. He tends to put his own life at risk first, so that tends to slowly win the ladies hearts over time. In addition, he has a bit of "little brother appeal" which wins him some protectors and also his courage and forthright approach to battle wins him the admiration of others. I don't know if any of that will come across in future episodes, but that is pretty much how it is in the novel.

Too bad the Ice faeries is beside him. If not he could use the stick to kill the enemies one by one.

The bats battle got a major change from the novel. The bat battle lasted all night long. Qi Hao had to use his "Mirror of 6 Combinations" all night long! The light did not scare them away but acted more like a barrier that could also kill bats, although a lot of them still got through from time to time to bite and fight the Mt. Jade team. So the four of them fought for their lives all night long...with no help or suggestions from the allied Buddhist monks who didn't find them till the next day. The remaining bats left on their own accord in the morning and once the shield went down the mountains of dead bats outside the burning light barrier fell onto the team. The Jade Mountain team was thus covered in dirt and smelly bat blood and tried to find a place to clean up...and that is when they met the 4 disciples from the other 2 good factions. The Li Xun guy from Burning Incense Valley even mocked them for their appearance, but when they saw the mountain of bat corpses they had to choke back their comments.
